  • Can I just say I appreciate the ease of moving the keyboard octave to easily align perfectly with my 25-keyboard.

  • Anyone know if you can do step ratcheting in the sequencer or piano roll? I used it quite a bit in GR-16 but can’t seem to find it yet in GR2.

Interesting, what if you’d already built a song in the timeline but wanted to jam with the clips to try alternative arrangements? I guess you can’t or you’d get some popover asking if you wanted to replace the song parts?

Start recording after the song you made in the timeline? I don't think there is a limit, if they were... duplicate the pattern and jam away

can anyone confirm? midi fx like scaler 2 or chord generator (or steppolyarp) don't seem to sync to the tempo as they should, something's off. GR2 arp syncs fine
edit: scaler when in perform mode, chord generator with the repeater on
    edit2: works fine in cubasis

I wonder if this is a sample rate mismatch bug, like it is in Logic Pro where the same issue occurs. Try changing the sample rate to 44.1k in GR 2 and see if that resolves the issue (as it does in Logic!). The option is in the top right settings menu.

EDIT: Same bug exists for me. Also, I can’t change the sample rate - it switches straight back to 48k after trying to select 44.1k. Anyone else get this too?

I cam just to ask this, I used drambo to program them hats on a dedicated part because you can't load midi fx on the drumrack.

But then you can print it and move it inside a drumrack part if you want, but if you are willing to leave them on it's own part this solves it for me... I think I could even ue gr-16 for that now that I think about it lol

  • anyone now if you can change the default clip loop record length ? right now it’s very short.

Hello there, is anybody is using Groove Rider 2 with an iPad Pro 12inch 1. Generation?
How it works from the cpu/ram side?

    thanks 🙏

I’m using a 1st gen pro (large screen).. It works very well.. Enjoying it more than my Air M1..

in the top bar when you click the name of the song to the right there is a length parameter, you can change it to whatever you want all new clips will default to that size

Yep, default pattern length can be changed by tapping the project name in the middle of the top menu bar. Option appears there.

  • I'm just realizing the power of sound fonts!

It only comes with one soundfont but has (almost) everything!

Is there a sf2 with risers and misc transition fx you know? I'll google it

Is anyone experiencing UI glitches? I’ve tried different FPS settings but it doesn’t make any difference. I’m on an M1 iPad.

Same here. M2 iPad. Trying the other suggestions that others have mentioned do not work.

Time to make a video and rage complain. (Sarcasm)

I believe the part I was having issue with is PICNIC. I was thinking entering steps was like in GR1. Oops.

Here is another video, this one for the Pattern Cross Fader Mixer, this will be very useful for those of you who do live performances.

Thanks for this Doug. I have a feeling that I’m going to learn a lot about it from just watching your channel over coming days.

  • Super happy to discover that pitch and mod wheels can be recorded! (In addition of course to all of the other automations)

This is something many of us have been waiting for in Drambo.

I’m sure @Samu has already discovered this

No poblems in the mini 6

It crashed once when using drambo as a midi fx but never again. I guess autosave makes sense for the future updates.

It’s so good to have a timeline

Was thinking of picking up a 2nd Gen Pro for the same reason. The app is so well optimized that I wouldn’t have any performance issues and that large screen would be great.

Nice…. Can’t wait for MultiTrack export.. CakeWalk/BandLab Sonar will enjoy mixing down this stuff..

    Thanks Jim Audio…

    This is it..

Wish we could get ‘Jump’ to record in Song Mode.. and have it fixed in GR16 as it works in GR 2.. (Auto Synced on release)..

    Hi!

Are auv3 effects can only be inserted on the send bus? The “track(insert)” effects are only built in ones?

And , is it possible to decide which pitch is a note on the step sequencer without the midi editor?
    Thx

    Bump, same question.

Apologies if this has been covered already, but does anyone know if GR16 projects can be opened on GR2?

Yep, GR16 patterns can be opened in GR2

    Thank you 👍

Yes, AUv3 effects on send A and send B only. There are a ton for different routing options though.

In steps mode, the first pad shows which note you are activating, you can scroll the notes up and down but you still do this on the edit page.

  • Tell me, do you think it is possible to control the crossfader in GR2 with a midi controller such as Traktor Kontrol z1?

  • @wim said:
Is there any way of selecting parts using the pads but not Trigger them? I find that easier than scrolling using the part selector, but I don't want the pads to play when I do that.

You can do it from the mixer screen by selecting a part:

I can’t record AU midi fx notes into the sequencer, whether in song mode or in a clip. It seems like MIDI fx output bypasses the sequencer and goes directly into the part instruments layer. Am I missing something?

**Edit: seems like the same issue Drambo used to have before introducing the record feature on midi fx AUs.

  • Double-tap does not re-set controls. Deleted and re-installed but still not working. Anyone else seeing this? iOS 18.3 iPad 8

I guess the only way for now to record the midi from a Auv3 MidiFX is to use the 'Print Midi' feature in the clip-launcher.
(ie. long-tap on an empty midi-clip slot and select print-midi, this will record either the output from the midi-plug-in or play the previously active clip thru the modifx and record the output to a new clip). The recording length is set in the pattern settings.

That's an odd decision. It would be straightforward to have AUs as layers. Or in the insert FX. Hope that's added in the future, otherwise this is a missed opportunity.

Otherwise, I'm liking the flow of this.
