This is not new. Check out my recent video. https://www.youtube.com/user/Intesall
The update that is in the App Store now lists things that were already there. I believe this is a bug fix update but I haven’t installed it yet.
What are you trying to apply Rozeta to?
Hi,
Wondering if there’s a way to save the expansion packs, loops, etc, in external storage under ios13. My iPad Pro is only 32gb and I would greatly benefit from this. Thanks!
No. I have a 32GB 2019 iPad and my Zenbeats install is a little under 8GB with a large number of Roland loops/presets plus my own samples. I use iCloud and Dropbox as “storage” for my sample libraries and only import what I’m actually going to use. You might try using an external drive. If you have a lot of apps on board use the Offload App function in General > iPad Storage to get some space back. The only way to keep from filling up storage is not to use your iPad as a “dumping ground”. Easier said than done. 😆
The biggest change that I see in the latest update is if scanning plug-ins comes across a “rogue” plugin Zenbeats may crash but it puts the plugin in quarantine. It crashed on me twice during a full re-scan but then it went through everything with no problems and I ended up with 3 plug-ins in Quarantine. The plug-ins that ended up in Quarantine are not critical to me so I’ll probably just delete them. The updates listed in 1.2.1 were all in 1.2.0. so this is apparently a quick bug fix update.
Do you use mostly Roland loops?. I’m wondering if they are regular audio files, I can’t locate them in the iPad, they must be bundled within the app. Can I use regular drum loops (Wav) or is there an advantage in using Roland ones?.
Where do you search for good loops/sounds?.
Cheers!
Zenbeats stuff is bundled in the app. I use both Zenbeats material and from other sources. The Zenbeats material is all ready to use. With external loops it’s helpful if they are trimmed to a clean loop. I use Auditor or Audioshare to trim loops if necessary. Good loops and samples are all over the net. I’d start with the Zenbeats store if you want to pay. If you are looking for free stuff search “free audio loops” or try freesound.org
Greets friends. I haven't read the entire thread (who does that??) but quick question if I may...
Does this app do "clip launching" ala Ableton and ModStep?
Anyone spring for the full and appreciated the sounds/loops/samples??
Tak.
Thanks guys will try this out and will add one plug in at a time. I really like the sounds I’m getting from the built in drum loops and sampler! Loving this app! Just hope my mixdown issues iron out.
It worked like a charm! My whole song mixdown sounded perfect! Using Alteza, Platinum Synth, and Blackhole reverb! As well as No limits app!
I tried this after latest update of today❤️😌☝️🙏
Thanks for all your hard work guys at Roland!
My settings were: no animations, no force 44.1, no Plugin compensation, and mixed down using real-tme render option.
Will try with enabling all these options again and see if update helped any of this settings.
Yes, it does clip launching as well as linear arrangement. I find it to be a lot more intuitive and forgiving than Modstep. Don’t let the looks fool you, this thing is seriously good. I was on a quest for a sequencer to use in AUM, took a small detour and ended up in Zenbeats, hadn’t even heard of it.
I prefer to work in linear mode but clip launching appears to be pretty well implemented. They just came out with a bug fix update and we should see another feature update soon but I have no idea when. I hope to create a video about clip mode within the next couple of weeks. Check out my videos if you are so inclined!
Downloaded it at lunch. Not gonna lie, i'm pretty smitten but I always am right off the bat. Love the clip launch.
Don't like:
1) Long press
2) transport skidding to a stop instead of just stopping.
Scanned plugins and it crashed. Opened up, tried again, no issues.
I'm going to play with it tonight but thanks again @anickt for the work you're doing here. Great stuff.
There are ways to address both of your issues. I’ll get back to you on that.
I had same experience with AU scanning after recent update. 3 AU’s were then in Quarantine. Nothing critical for me so I deleted them.
Long press is not necessary anywhere from my experience. The key is to use the sidebar. The circled items in the Pix below will take you to the same menus that long press does. By skidding to a stop I assume you mean it continues playing after you hit the Stop button. That’s normal behavior in a clip launcher. It’s to finish at the end of a measure before going to the next one during playback. ZB has a setting for it. See the last pic.
@anickt thanks for your help and tutorials. I’m gonna ask you one more, tell me to stop whenever you’ve had enough 😜

Regarding your custom loops and sounds...
1) I can’t click anywhere on a empty slot. Just the little folder
2) I thought this would let you preview your samples and loops from within Zenbeats. Adding one by one is very cumbersome, as it is to preview them. Isn’t there a way of at least adding a whole folder?. Can’t seem to copy and paste from clipboard either. How do go about this exactly?.
You can add files in the Files app.
And preview them there
Make a folder in the Files app inside of On My IPad > Zenbeats > Zenbeats User > Audio Samples or Drum Sounds as appropriate. See examples below.
Quick recording question: i’ve been recording my daughter singing and okaying acoustic guitar. We set a certain bpm but if i turn on the metronome she gets uninspired due to the tension of staying in perfect sync. Whereas with out the metronome, she plays ok on time but some times not perfect. Would be possible to fix this later in an audio track of Zenbeats and be still able to apply some drum loops so the audio tracks will be synced to the drum loops? Hope this makes sense. I haven’t had a chance to try this but just wondered what your thoughts or recommendations would be. Thanks all in advance!
How about if you had her play to a simple drum beat and keyboard chords instead of metronome and/or have her do 2-3 takes and comp the best of each into one? Once you have that it might be easier to tweak the individual drum hits around if necessary.
Thanks, I’ll give that a try. I know that if i play the keys while she’s playing, everything sounds perfect but does it matter what BPM i set the recording to? Or should the BPM be at a ball park setting to make it easier to match the drums later?
@Tones4Christ That’s what I have done with my teenage girls before. I made a simple drum beat and boom.... the metronome freaked them out. Well it freaks me out. :-)
Thanks!❤️😌 I think this is gonna really help.
What's that? No midi out?! Dayum!!!!!
-Please tell me there are plans to add this.> @anickt said:
Thanks man!
Double clicking on ‘stop’ button stops transport immediately, btw.
Seriously great program. I’m digging it.
Eh?? There is midi out.
Midi routing between tracks too.
Make sure you have background audio enabled.
I typed it, checked it before I typed found out I was wrong and somehow I still ended up sending it. My mistake. Thanks @wim
How many tracks in Zen?
I use AUM and Drambo but wonder if Zenbeats could mix and match stuff recorded in AUM and obviously more. I bought multitrack DAW plus extra tracks ( 24 ) but have never got to the point of using it and it seems like Id just have a different arrangement process if need be but more limited compared to zen.
Dont really want to use a different platform but be able to maybe arrange different AUM multiple tracks.
@sigma79 so here is the deal for me.... right now I think that I have a project with 29 tracks... I dont think there is a limit, but what your device can handle. I was a diehard AUM and Xequence user.... but let me tell you zenbeats is almost perfect!!!!! Roland team is working their butts off to fix a lot of bugs. I would highly recommend the app!!! I have tried every single iOS DAW and none compare IMHO to Zen.
One simple example could be that muscle memory for scrolling the plugin list doesnt work. You have to actually move the scrollbar on the far right of the UI.
There is no reason for this as iOS can make a distinction between scrolling and tapping.
