This is indeed an interesting point. We have recently added the ability to append select by using the shift button. However, I do feel your pain and I do think your suggestion makes all the sense. Shift + tap note should select/deselect because there is no other way of doing it.
Maybe we could select append by default, and make shift tap a select/deselect operation.
It is also a interesting suggestion, pressing the shift + keyboard key to select all the notes in that pitch
Let us sleep on this.
This is a good suggestion.
This is also a good suggestion.
We will take note of this suggestions and see what we can do in the future.
/2 and x2 the note length?
Please do send crash reports. It is very helpful for us to track down the problem. You need to have share with developers settings enabled under system privacy settings.
This is a long time problem we haven't been able to work around yet. Let's try again
Only MATRIX module! Should end soonl.
What is the regular price ? It shows at 4,99€, which seems to be a steal... 😎
Yes, that too would be awesome!
Many times I just use simple 16th notes but with 50% or even 25% gate-time so note-length /2 would be a perfect tool here.
For Double/Half-tempo, 'stretch' the midi events. So one bar of 1/16th notes would in 'half-time' be 2 bars of 1/8th notes...
...and for 'double-time' of a 2 bars full of 16th notes it would become 1 bar with 32nd notes etc.
Think of it like midi time-stretch.
A feature I love in Logic (and iOS GarageBand) is that it's piano roll editor remembers the 'length & velocity' of the last drawn note/event. So with 16th grid selected, if I draw in a 1/4 or 1/8 note the next drawn note will also be 1/4 or 1/8.
Just noticed a double-tap on shift 'lock' & 'unlocks' it.
Perfect for adding notes to a selection using the 'lasso'. It makes the 'invert selection' feature even more logical
Other things would be 'shift drag' to copy the selected notes to another location?
The current 'Duplicate' behaves more like 'Repeat Selection' and makes it a bit tricky to grab a small selection without overwriting the note events on the following next step(s).
So if I want to copy events from step one the 'duplicate' function puts them on step 2 in some cases overwriting the note events on step two.
Don't know of 'long-tap' to bring up cut/copy/paste menu could eventually solve this?
(This way it would even be possible to copy events between clips).
Sorry for the 'brain farts', feel free to ignore if no one else requests similar features
Cheers!
This would be awesome! Thanks for listening.
Ah thanks. Got that one already 😉
I think it would be useful to expand quantization options to note lengths as well, with options to quantize lengths to the currently selected quantization grid, legato or fixed length (1/2,1/4,1/8...).
Also, it would be nice if the notes color would follow the clip color.
Hrmmm good point. There should definitely be a Clip present to record to. Would a Create Clip button in the Chorder/Midi Pads toolbar be odd? I guess I’m just looking for a faster way to record a Clip without having to go to Clip view then go to Chorder view and start playing.
I got the point. Let's see what we can do.
This is a simple and good idea. What do others think?
This would be really useful if you were also thinking of adding ghost notes / clip overlays
I second that. It's something I didn't expect to find useful, but it definitely makes pattern editing faster (I always use it Atom)
I do like LK in 'AUv3 Fullscreen Mode'.
Unfortunately AudioBus has no way to easily select which midi channel each AUv3 instance listens to and It's all channels by default?! (Ie. it's impossible to use om instance of LK to control multiple AUv3's in Audiobus without using multiple instances of LK).
@Michael Is this something that is 'by design' or something that will be added later?
(Ie. a simple midi-channel selector/filter per AUv3 instance would be enough).
Cheers!
That's a very good idea 😊👍
Cool. I think what you need is just a small modification to the normal linear slope calculation. See the answer here, where the linear slope is adjusted by raising values to the n'th power.
https://math.stackexchange.com/questions/107245/continuum-between-linear-and-logarithmic
In that answer it is said to use 0 < n < 1, but for your right-hand side with exponential curves, you need to let the n value become larger than 1. Swipe left: decrease n down towards 0 (but not quite 0). Swipe right: increase n toward some suitable upper value for a sharp exponential curve.
Also, +1 for using clip color as note color, and maybe one day optionally display reference notes ("ghosts") from other clips.
It is not that simple. For a line we dont need to keep the intermediate values, they are calculated in song time. Doing those kinds of transforms, need additional complexity to how values are kept. It is not a simple improvement.
That‘s a brilliant idea!
Not on sale anymore?
Just to ask this again, is there no way to set a default clip length? It’s very tedious to have to create a blank 1 bar clip and change its properties every time I want a longer length.
EDIT: I'm thinking about this in the context of a jamming and improvisation workflow.
it try to to trig scenes with a cc but didn't find how to do this?
is it possible ?
No. (Not yet at least, fingers crossed it will be added)
+1
+1
and also clip should be (record ready) when empty
Just having a look at this. Looks decent but it's it possible to quantise note ends in the matrix module? Doesn't look like it is to be but wanted to check with those who've been using it for longer
When recording? No. But if you use the note tools/select all, then drag to lengthen or shorten the notes, they will snap to the quantize setting.
