Garage Band Update
All this Loopy madness. Looptree, Group the Loop, new Loopy app sometime, Loops in GB. It's just loopin crazy!

Anyway. When you jump into the Live Loops interface, you're first asked whether you want to mess with one of several genre presets, including EDM, Hip-hop, Dubstep and Rock (among others). Popping into any of those gives you a template of preloaded cells — tapping on any of them plays the loop at your specified tempo, and tapping an icon at the bottom of the column plays all of the loops contained within it. Congrats: that's 90 percent of the learning curve accounted for already._

This is great being able to use iSEM as an AU inside Garageband. Steinberg's got some catching up to do.
Strange that they not have added woodwind to the touchinstruments...
Many have waited years for trumphet, sax, flute etc...
But, this update looks great!

With this update, they've finally made GarageBand iOS into a useful DAW.
A minute after i wrote this i got updates for Logic Pro X and Mainstage..... lol. But all these updates will take some hours with my medieval net connection

No AU effects?
They borrowed from several app sources familiar to folks in this forum with the UI/UX design.
I was excited to see eq and compression on each track, but it is only treble/bass controls and the compressor doesn't seem to have any make-up gain, and so the more you apply it, the quieter the track gets, which could well make it disappear in a mix. Good overall update though.
I think the question is does it support AU effects.
And the answer is still no. No selectable effects at all.
