I doubt the market of iPad Pros is large enough for a reduced from PC price scheme to work.
@Crabman I tried reproducing your crash scenario and haven't been able to, despite saving, duplicating, and renaming. If this is still a problem for you, please file a suppor request on our site: https://www.propellerheads.se/support/contact/mobile/?i=15
Specially because, since the first Air, the iPad is at least as powerful as the old Pentium Dual Cores that used to be the minimum hardware needed to run Reason.
ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE....................................
Thank you Propellerhead.
Now let's fix Thor and get a new serous music making app and we are set!
Figure will have the floor wiped with it when Blocs Wave and SKram both come of age and are sync able
Developers want to succeed. Now and in the future. But how much can they afford to invest in the future, sacrificing today, and what will the future be? I don’t think the iOS music market is so promising as a professional platform that it’s a no-brainer for every company.
Ha ha. Good point well made.
Don't say what you think though or the thread will be closed.
Some birds, according to K. E. L. Simmons, of the Department of Psychology of the University of Bristol in England, use ants with considerable finesse. The Pekin robin holds an ant by its thorax, leaving free the abdomen, which contains the formic acid glands and the mechanism that sprays the acid. Depending upon from which side of the bill the abdomen protrudes, the bird turns its head and applies the ant to the appropriate wing. At first it uses the ant as a 'bug bomb,' holding the struggling creature so that it sprays formic acid onto the undersurface of the flight feathers. But eventually the ant dies. Then the bird daubs the fluids that ooze from the ant's crushed body onto its feathers.
So is Allihooper owned by Propellerheads or have they bought out propellerheads mobile division?
https://www.propellerheads.se/blog/welcome-allihoopa
Allihoopa is a Swedish word play for the Swedish word for "everyone".
Yeah i seen that but it is subjective and doesnt really say difinitively either way and i just noticed the developer of figure and take changed to Allihoopi...
Figure by Allihoopa

Take Creative Vocal Recorder by Allihoopa

Possibly propellerheads is the parent company now?
Allihoopa is a sister company to Propellerhead. It's the same people working on our apps as 6 months ago, just under a different name.
I know this is a Figure thread, but Blocs Wave was mentioned. Thinking about Blocs Wave alongside Figure and Auxy seems appropriate. In all 3 cases, developers seem to be reaching for a mass market by walling off the app from the rest of the ios universe. I hope Blocs Wave doesn't continue in that direction.

But this is exact still the major problem. While there are at least 5 new interesting synths which came out in the last 2 weeks for desktop (seems one of these, a free one, could be ported to iOS and android as well) we just see mainly ported versions of these tools on iOS or very limited tools which are still there.
Also it seems that there are now more good synth in the desktop world below 100 bucks, or less..... or even free.
I talked to a few of my favourite developers and saw a few other newer and older threads where people asking for iOS versions.
Mostly the answer was that they won't release an app for a 1/10 of the price and hurt themselfes and existing customers. Also as known is iOS still far away in general from a useful market for these companies.
It's simple. I think (most) of these companies are not stupid and know where their market is.
You can't compare that to iOS only developers which might be better for a "side" project rather than a full time job to make a living from.
While iOS still offers some great, innovative and unique ways to create and interact with music there is also still a lot happening in the desktop world.
I feel a bit that iOS stagnate more here now.
I hope this might change with iOS 10 and new better devices.
But it could take some years before we see more major players with their full apps on iOS.
In what way do you think that we are walling off Figure from the rest of the iOS world?
@leonathorst Thor update on the horison, please? How do you see Thor in your future plans, please?
I feel like basic export functionality is hidden (Song, Browse, hit little share icon, choose export destination). There are many easier options for exporting to Allihoopa. You can click on the word Allihoopa in the songs page, you can click on either of the two cloud with arrow icons on the song page.
But your general point is fair. Calling Figure "walled off" is overstating things as Figure does of IAA and AB output functionality.
I think it would be a good idea to add a few more export options such as 'Open In...'(iOS Share sheet) and 'iCloud Drive'(ie. Document Picker, iOS File-Picker etc.) for starters as it would allow us to directly do a mix-down and send the audio to an app we choose (Cubasis, AudioShare etc.) instead of being forced to store the file in AudioCopy.app...
The enhanced export options could also be used to backup project files.
Enhanced editing of the recorded material (grid/piano-roll) would be welcomed for those of us that are less than stellar playing things live.
I see no real need for midi input/output.
What did I miss? Did we receive something?
Figure would be relevant in my setup if it had Ableton Link....is this planned?
back in line please, rebirth is crying for link and (as a payed app...) should get it first
Not planned as in that we have a delivery date for it, but it's absolutely on our radar.
Hmm...
Shit... they offered Reason 8 on discount for 299 (reg: 399) and this offer wa valid until and of April
But,
Shiiiittt... isnt it a lie?
I love this platform, can handle it pretty good, but for quite some time now I've used Reason only to record, edit, process and master audio tracks, no virtual instruments at all. So v 8 is way more than enough for me. If, however, they will offer longtime v 8 users a free upgrade, I will of course upgrade. And they'd better do it: it says on their website "if you buy Reason 8 now you'll get v 9 free in June". Today V8 costs EUR 369. I paid EUR 400 for v 7, then a year later another EUR 150 for the v 8 upgrade. So a free upgrade would be a nice gesture for a change.... will email and as PH what's the policy....
Edit: looks like it's "newcomers are welcome, old users are f**ked": (from the PH website): "_ Anyone who bought a qualifying Reason purchase on or after May 1st 2016 is eligible for a free upgrade to Reason 9 once it’s released on June 21st. Below you can find all the details." _
So, if you pay EUR 369 today, you're good for a free upgrade. If you gave PH over 550 euros these past few years, you're only good for a paid upgrade. (I so much want someone from PH to chime in and post here that I'm wrong....)
I am an occasional Reason 4 user haha. Would love a free upgrade. It is the same with many things in life though, new users get deals, existing users are already hooked so get nothing. Which sucks. Some kind of sensible upgrade path would be nice, graded such as there is no extreme cut-off. Upgrading after buying Reason 8 on April 30th should not be a significant increase to buying on May 1st.
Yep, upgraded from 6 to 8 last december.... I wish I hadn't...
The midi tools are more than welcome... but 2 updates in a row are getting too pricey for me, ableton suite would have been a way smarter investment in the long run (I use live lite loaded with awesome vsts, some of them free, and bpm linked with my ipad)
i ll pass this time, maybe reason 10 ?
I don't have Reason.
I would love to try it.
I have demo only and love thier instruments, but those are too small, and the knobs are small too, something like rebirth on ipad
Hafta say that Rebirth on the Big Boy is like a whole new app. Pity it's not really my bag of bunions but it suddenly is Big Enough to make sense of....
