    Hafta say that Rebirth on the Big Boy is like a whole new app. Pity it's not really my bag of bunions but it suddenly is Big Enough to make sense of....

    Rebirths better on a big boy than an old boy, on the desktop, sadly is no more, well not on newer versions of reason, 32 into 64 don't go.

    I'm glad to have skipped R8 and waited. The upgrade from R7 to R9 will definitely be worth it.

    The midi tools are more than welcome... but 2 updates in a row are getting too pricey for me, ableton suite would have been a way smarter investment in the long run (I use live lite loaded with awesome vsts, some of them free, and bpm linked with my ipad)

    Yep, I'm with you on this. It's just too expensive to upgrade every time a major version get released, if you are just an enthusiast and not a professional musician. And some even go further and charge you for upgrading from v8 to 8.5 :(

    Update Thor with AU!! Would make the best synth on IOS even more god like. Probably completely impractical. One can dream :smiley:

    PH replied: they are afraid I'm not eligible for the free upgrade, but good news! - I am eligible for the eur 129 upgrade. No frickin' way they'll get any more of my money...
    Looks like they don't give a damn whether existing customers continue to buy from them. They focus on grabbing new folks and give them way better conditions. I guess my support for PH and their products ends here. Not that PH or anyone cares, I just had to flame and fume a little. Sorry about that.

    Well i understand some of your points. Been there myself but thats how every major software company works. Look at NI, Steinberg or Ableton. There is a cycle to these updates. Hit or miss i guess.
