Agree with pretty much all of this. It feels as though it's just quietly crossed a line...am going to write my SOTMC for November in GB as en experiment. Can't imagine I won't export it stem-by-stem to Auria for some clumsy polishing, but we'll see.

    >

I noticed that you can now mute almost individual drum pieces in the drummer, meaning kick, snare , Toms as a group, cymbals as a group, that would come in handy for stem export (and therefore some drum-a-gogging in auria if you so chose).

Thanks Mister. Good nudge. Will so credit you in the liner notes. The general loss of which is actually a sore point in this lifetime. When other kids answered the 'what do you want to be when you grow up' question with milkman or capitalist running dog I always said liner note specialist. Born too late etc.

Not so fast, there’s a new standard that is trying to be introduced by various organizations that uses a plugin where metadata will be inputted before exporting audio files and they are trying to make it required so credits are available on downloaded files.

Check out the podcast that the site is from as well, he does great interviews.

Nice. Will do. My purpose is reborn perhaps :) I did actually spend a year or so sitting in West Village bars writing liner notes to imaginary albums and thought I could somehow tie them all together in a kind of Italo Calvino post-something slim novel, but then I sobered up...

I would read that for sure.

  • @Samu, what are the "product red" Apple Loops? I'm always looking to get more good, free loops!

  • Cool. Was having freezing that was iCloud related.

Sure would be nice if GB had audio outputs. Muting tracks and exporting seems very 1990s

I believe it was a special, for charity kind of purpose, and was an IAP. Only for those who bought it, I believe. But who knows it me be for everyone now?

Excuse me if I missed something with the newer Garageband, but, can’t we use it for live drumming anymore?
    Just like this picture below...

Haven’t used Garageband for ages, and today I showed it to a younger relatives the capacity of GarageBand, and, couldn’t find live drumming anywhere...?
    Is it gone?

    Not, it's still there.

Those were an IAP($0.99) pack for GarageBand long time ago during a Product Red campaign.
They get a 'Red' wave-Icon in the loops list but there is no separate filter for them.

The IAP is no longer available for purchase but the content can be restored...

    Hmmm... Can’t find it :-(
How do you do to relieve it?

Just select an acoustic drum kit...

    Hmmm... Again...
On my iPad Pro 12.9” 2017 with iOS 11.25 beta 2 only the new drum sequencer occurs when I choose an acoustic drumkit...?

    Can you post a screenshot?

  • You have to choose 'Drums', not 'Drummer'....I have the exact same set up as you and it works fine.

I get this on my iPad Air 2, iOS11.2.1...

So this could be an iPad Pro running beta version of iOS issue as well...

Me too, and I'm also using a pro but with ios 11.1.2. It could be that he's selecting drummer instead of drums, as mentioned.

First it doesn’t help, but, after an ordinary reboot of my iPad the live drums were back... Strange bug...
    Case closed...
