And now for the upcoming feature that was secret.. Vocal Tune Studio!
Vocal Tune Studio is an editor to correct pitch and time for vocals, like Auto Tune PRO. It is integrated into Audio Evolution Mobile Studio for a fast workflow. It features retune time, retune amount, volume and formant correction per note as well as vibrato controls. Vocal Tune Studio can detect the key and scale or you can choose the key/scale yourself. Notes or groups of notes can be time corrected.
Aside vocal pitch correction, it also features time correction (stretching and shrinking) on arbitrary points for any type of audio material.
This feature has been in development for over a year and the pitch detection and correction has been fine-tuned to provide the greatest quality compared to desktop offerings that cost hundreds of euros/dollars. Vocal Tune Studio is expected to be available to Audio Evolution Mobile Studio for Android and iOS within 2 to 3 weeks and will require an in-app purchase.
Wild that this feature comes out on the exact same day this is released: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/52902/musicputty-a-note-based-vocal-pitch-editor-is-now-on-the-app-store#latest
@dwrae BLOWN AWAY with these updates and new IAP thanks for all the work. 🔥
Great!
@dwrae WOW! That’s soooo great!
(some thoughts to share: don’t know how many people are using AEMS with external synths and gear like me but I’m really missing a MIDI thru function to hear what I’m playing/recording and it would be nice to have the new Rec button on plain MIDI track as well, thanks!)
@dwrae With the latest update is it possible to send midi CC data from a midi AU for example MIDI LFOS by Art Kerns to a internal or AU instrument on the same instrument midi track or from one track to another? I’ve given it a go and can’t seem to get it to work. Or does the update only cater for hardware learning and mapping?
No, it must be a real or virtual midi device, AU midi doesn't leave the host as far as I know. There is no internal midi routing between tracks in AEMS.
Same here. A Melodyne style IAP is amazing.
…I’m suddenly looking at Cubasis3 like I just bumped into my ex wife at the grocery store or something….
🤣
😄 Totally- I wasn't even aware of this daw.
I read a bit of the stuff about it, saw bpm and time signature change and thought "Give it a shot". Because to me those are essential features.
Fedup with Cubasis not letting me do some very basic things such as the above- and I don't find that workflow has been good for me. Have been wanting to try something else and maybe this is it.
What @Anagram_R said
I'd like to have a couple more beta testers for Vocal Tune Studio within Audio Evolution for iOS, so if you have purchased Audio Evolution Mobile Studio and have experience with pitch editing software, please send a message to [email protected]. Please note that when you install the TestFlight version, you temporarily lose access to any purchase you have done in Audio Evolution Mobile Studio until you install the official release again (and purchases except VTS are blocked in the beta).
I shot you an email
Yes, received, thanks! I'm currently waiting for Apple to release the latest beta. Then I'll add everyone who applied to TestFlight.
I emailed you as well
I'm not a tester, but I am a buyer-in-waiting. Good luck!
I’m noodling around with the MIDI remote control. I can easily set it up and control AU parameters via external MIDI control. I cannot seem to find out how to record and play back my MIDI fiddlings.
Is it possible to MIDI learn an AU parameter, play with it, record that (a CC for instance) and then play back the AU parameter changes (with the recorded CC’s now controlling the AU parameter)?
Yes, although indeed not trivial. You need to enable the Touch button first in the Mixer display. I should bring that button now to the effects screen as well. Don't forget to turn the button off after use, otherwise you will keep on recording every change.
Ok! Will it be recorded as 'regular automation' or as a MIDI CC?
Regular automation
Thank you!
The Beta works great on my Ipadpro 11‘ 2020!Game changer for me, can’t wait for the official release @dwrae
EDIT: I currently have enough testers for now, thanks for everyone who has applied.
what excellent news. If by chance there is a vacancy to test the beta, I would really like to test it. In fact, I would really like to have 2 features on the iPad Pro: being able to edit the vocal tuning after recording, and working with an external disk like I do in lumafusion for video editing. at least tuning we already have. Is there a possibility to add this feature in AEM? edit from external disk on ipad?
I have a different workflow and at this point not in need for a DAW, but I must say I have a deep admiration for the developer for listening, and working so passionately close with it's users. My respect!
I'll need to look at that, but there are other priorities now.
Audio Evolution Mobile Studio v5.5.0 for iOS has been released!
This version adds Vocal Tune Studio, an editor to correct pitch and time of vocal recordings, a unique feature in mobile apps. It features retune time, retune amount, volume and formant correction per note as well as vibrato controls. Vocal Tune Studio can detect the key and scale or they can be manually chosen. Notes or groups of notes can be time corrected.
Two modes are available that match the most common usages on desktop: one starting with all notes already quantized to the selected key/scale and the other one starting without pitch correction and features an additional pitch quantization slider.
Besides vocal pitch correction, it also features time correction (stretching and shrinking) on arbitrary points for any type of audio material.
This feature has been in development for over a year and the pitch detection and correction have been fine-tuned to provide the highest quality compared to desktop offerings that cost hundreds of euros/dollars.
To access Vocal Tune Studio, please double-tap an audio clip. An in-app purchase is required.
A clip could accidentally move after zooming. Solved.
Funny thing about the AppStore, when I put in Audio Evolution as my search the app doesn’t appear (well it may do way down the list but certainly nowhere near the top)
The vocal tune studio iap is cheap compared to Melodyne but expensive compared to the underlying app. I think I will wait for more feedback about how well it actually works before pressing the buy button. (Yes I know there’s a free trial, but that’s not likely to be long enough for a proper evaluation).
I’m still struggling to figure out a workflow with this app specifically using MIDI Audio Units. I add an AU instrument then on that same track add a MIDI AU like Bram Bos Particles (any AU MIDI really) but there is no sound and nothing recorded on that track, What am I missing here? Could someone please spell out the steps to make this work? Thanks!
Edit: maybe it’s Bram Bos’s MIDI apps? I can get sound when using StepPolyArp AU and Mela MIDI but no sound from Particles and nothing is getting recorded to the track from any of these apps.
