One thing I would say, is don't write off the Soundware which UVI has been creating for years. On the one hand, in a world where the likes of U-He and Arturia are releasing VA's that are just as good as the hardware, you may think why buy facsimiles of classic synths reliant on samples? But the joy of the best of UVI's vintage Soundware is that not only does it sound just as good as the hardware, it barely tickles the CPU meter, and that's something you can't say for U-He or Arturia VA's. And then you come to the fact that you can mix up, layer, and use all of the synthesis acrobatics that Falcon has to offer with the Soundware. Really powerful stuff.

Waves is so wierd, I mean free stuff etc. fine for me. But I'm already on their mailing list, to get this they said "please sign up" and I did and now I have to signup again? Like WTF ist this, NIs freebies just get added to your account when you click the link and that's it. Why do they want my E-Mail address like 10x in a row.

Did you notice that Acoustic Samples had released « V Horns », based on a technique similar to the one of SampleModeling ?
Only 90 Mb per instrument with full continuous expression and legatos. This making it the third company - with SampleModeling and Audio Modeling - to go the hybrid modeling way. And they have a foot already in the iOS platform ☺️

Freebies are nice, what's not so nice is when in a year they take away your second license unless you pay a yearly ransom.
I understand the point of the WUP even though I dislike it in principle (it makes sense for professionals that earn a living using their plugins to stay up to date fairly easily but for a consumer like me it makes no financial sense at all, which is fine; I have alternatives).
The second license thing though? Horrible policy. It never feels like they've given you something for free for a year, it just feels like they're taking it away from you for being naughty
At the risk of sounding like a total hypocrite, there's no point in complaining about Waves' policies as there are perfectly good alternatives from lots of other developers and if you only make music on one machine you can build up quite a nice collection of plug-ins for next to nothing if you play Waves' game and only buy when heavily discounted or free as long as you know you will have to pay a fee at some point to keep them working with the OS.
Waves also spams that list like they hacked someone's twitter. Several ads a day. That horse is so dead it's already given up the haunting business and moved on to crypto. Does that shit really work on someone?
