Is that with the very latest update? (was it today, or yesterday? ) edit: it worked fine before the update.
edit2: I can add many instances in Logic.
@thesoundtestroom I don't think it's the amount of instances that are the issue (i'm on a M1), no there's some serious conflict, somewhere ..

Don't count on getting noticed in a timely fashion that way. It can be hit or miss.
Thank you, I'll send him an email then.
Hmm I'm starting to worry a bit as this is the second app in short time causing me issues that no one else seem to have (I still have issues with Stack although many problems have self healed ... somehow)
.
Is it only me or MidiStep is not saving mod lanes ranges within both presets and sessions ?
I’ve tried it in aum and in cubasis3 but it is loosing ranges both when reloading a session or recalling a midistep preset.
When you say ‘mod lanes ranges’ are you referring to the step length of an individual Modulation lane?
Are you referring to the popup randomization ranges? These are saved along with the session or in the saved preset. They are unique to each parameter, so MOD1-8 maintain their own settings.
I've not had a single crash in AUM in the entire time I've been developing this app, but I will check the crash logs and hopfully that will shine some light on this. I've also not had any crashing issues reported from testers so this is wierd. What model of iPad are you using and iOS version?
Are you sure you are loading the app as a MIDI Plugin (MidiStep aumi)?
The next version will be released next week, and has a few bug fixes that might help. If you test 1.02 when it drops next week and you still have problems then let me know.
I think what you are referring too perhaps is the Range Min and Range Max knobs right? I've just been testing and can see these are not being saved. I will get this sorted for the next version which should be released early next week. They were being saved, but not restored.
@gfcalvi, @4pockets_paul - That’s what I see too. The ranges set within each mod were saving correctly, though. I like a nice picture to go along with it:
Does it do anything with CC’s?
Instead of Note/velo send a CC/value
Sorry, should have included that, I usually do: iPad M1 11' latest iOS.
I'm not new😌. I did try load it as an instrument though, after all crashes, but it behaves the same there. Here's a short animation, it's almost like it makes a sound, so instant is the crash, as I said before: very unusual in AUM.
Fingers crossed.
@Pxlhg is there a crash report in Settings|Privacy & Security|Analytics & Improvements|Analytics Data that you could share with Paul?
I don’t need this
I repeat, I do not need this!
I do not.. whooops I accidentally stepped on my dog’s tail, tripped over his leash, and my finger landed right on the GET button.
(Then of course I had to confirm by double clicking the <—Side button (which was also totally an accident I swear!)
Ahh who am I kidding.. I totally meant to buy it. The randomization functions are what sold me. Plus I’m always a sucker for these kind of step sequencers.
Cool app @4pockets_paul 😌
Done.
You’re right; this is exactly what I was referring to. Many thanks
I was possessed by the twin evil spirits called GAS and FOMO. Sometimes it’s good to be bad, though.
Just wanted to let everyone know we have been hard at work adding some really awesome features to the next version 1.02, which will be released this coming Monday/Tuesday, once we have the manual updated. We've also worked hard on bug fixes so if you have an issue right now please wait until version 1.02 is released and then let me know if there are any outstanding issues.
I have been holding off on releasing any more MasterClass videos until this version is released as I wanted to include all the latest features in the video. I already have the next video recorded and ready to go. This release will be a good one I promise!
Great… can’t imagine what new features…
Can’t wait….
Thanks.
@4pockets_paul I have solved the issue and it's a weird one, nothing or very little to do with MStep. I tested some app a while back in AUM which sat the buffer and it was strange values and I could not change them. I would like to say it was Discovery but when I try now it's fine. Well, if it wasn't I can't remember it now.
Anyway, since then the value in the buffer in AUM has had some odd numbers instead of e.g 256 it could be something like 279. I did not know that this was important (should it be?).
So, conclusion: I changed and the crash doesn't occur. How strange!
To whom may have concern: I'll send this to P in an email as well so he gets it.
@RajahP :Thanks for posting that from Paul.
Nice! Looking forward to the update.
Looking forward to the update and videos..
Thanks..
Paul, it is a good one. The simple fact that disabled notes are now visible and can be changed is a game changer for me. Thanks for the good work and all the best.
…and he has implemented pattern change when the previous pattern completes - wow !
Really awesome now that I can use it again, great stuff - really!
New version .3 available :-)
I love this sequencer, one of the things I would have liked to have is a evolving mode based on a parameter like in 'marbles' a 'déja vu' that keeps the sequence and evolves it quietly / with the option to keep the evolution or go back to the original.
I also use atony or tatat which offer this, but where it's just random generation, whereas with midistep you control/create your own initial sequence.
:-)
+1. That would be great
I’ve been experimenting with establishing the original pattern in pattern slot 1, copying it to pattern slot 2, then setting up the master randomization panel focusing on randomizing Repeat and Divider, which keep the original motif intact while creating variations on it.
Try this too 🙂 but in my opinion not as immediat and evolving, i use it more for structure my song
Not sure if this is a bug or by design but the app is not keeping the same sequencer modulation settings between patterns.i have to re-setup the midi cc on each modulation lane again and again every time i am entering a new pattern.this is making the proccess very cumbersome to do variations of a same pattern and i think that maybe it should have an option to share these settings through all of it's patterns.killer app though!
