  • Not sure if this is a bug or by design but the app is not keeping the same sequencer modulation settings between patterns.i have to re-setup the midi cc on each modulation lane again and again every time i am entering a new pattern.this is making the proccess very cumbersome and i think that maybe it should have an option to share these settings through all of it's patterns.killer app though!

Edit.. stopped to find midi import in Loopy Pro?

I was wondering too if I had missed something:
“If you are a Loopy Pro user you know that the latest version supports MIDI loops…”
    Anyway - great update.

    Hopefully sooner than 2 months..

  • Updated… V.106

    Sick..

    Thanks..

  • Dope update!!! Great timing too.

Between Cem’s midi manglers to GlitchStep 2024 has been very kind to midi.

    I am enjoying MidiStep.

  • This one is getting some serious complexity, I love it. So far I have had some issues taming it as what ever I do it gets too intense. I want slooooow 😆 (I'll figure it out in due time...) Anyway, thanks for another awesome addition. 🥰

  • I almost got this until i remembered GarageBand doesn’t support MidiFx.

  • I grabbed this in the recent sale after waiting and wanting. My good god, it's incredible! I can't believe the complexity and possibilities with this thing. Is Paul even human? He's literally made some of my most favourite and unique iPad apps and what's just as wild I can easily transfer projects to desktop and continue using thing them on my M1 machine.

If you've been sitting on the sidelines for this one I suggest to grab it, sale or not.

Oh no! I'm not sure how you survive without midi plugins. I rate some of the MidiFx on ipad as highly as I do some of the great synths and drum machines. I wonder if Apple will ever enable them for Gband?

  • Is this on a Black Friday discount?
    What is the normal price?

If you have Art Kerns MidiSTEPs… It records midi, seems even CC information too.. Recording MidiStep and its complexities into MidiSTEPs is a blast..

  • I missed the sale. If it goes back on Friday, I’m in.

I was waiting for that sale and nabbed it but now seeing how powerful it is I’d easily pay full price without a second thought. Yums!

Hmm, I do use his probability thing and that one is real good to kill some intensity. I have never even thought of recording into midiSTEP. Midistep to midiSTEP -- it's just too funny. Thanks for the tip I will definitely give it a try.

Definitely one of his top creations and it's also a contender for many competitive, top notch sequencers. It's really been crazy with all these superb generators (Mass is another special one) and other MIDI tools we've been offered this year.

Same here - only selected modlane sendes cc in Cubasis. It is nice - the chords are super nice as well as all the scales.
I am not retirering Thesys just yet.

Is there a way to rotate a pattern one step at the time?

Just been through this whole thread and can see a few mentions of Sugar Bytes Thesys but no real opinions on Midisteps vs Thesys?

Now Thesys is on offer for Black Friday, what do people think is better? It seems like Midisteps has even more functionality - anyone with experience of both care to comment? Cheers.

Have them both. Thesys has its uniqueness, The Live performance (Action Section).. but it seems that MidiStep is still being developed.. who knows what 'Paul the Magician' has up his sleeves?
Thesys was introduced over a decade ago (desktop) and not much more has been introduced for some time..

BTW.. I'm still exploring MiDiStep... it is such a deep app..

Probably not..,they seem to only care about Logic Pro now.

  • Amazing update… it is now begging for import midi file and, mutate..

    Thanks..

  • Great update. You can already do mutate when using it as a plug-in; Randomize notes, Randomize velocity etc. are AU parameters that can be triggered at the beginning of a pattern, for instance with a p-lock on step 1 in Drambo, or CC toggle in AUM.

You got a find another host! Loopy pro or AUM wouldn’t be bad ones!

I meant bringing in your own midi file… A Bassline from iBassist, Hip Hop Drummer, etc..
    would be wild..
