  • How about:

Name of Song_Track1, Name of Song_Track2 etc. instead of just Track1, Track2 etc.

  • Hey @Diode108, when we spoke about 'autonamed' files, I assumed you meant it would auto-name with the loaded sample instrument name. Kick, Kick Accent, Snare etc...?

  • edited May 2015

I thought of sample names first, but the problem with using sample names is if someone has duplicated the names. Like someone names instrument 1 "kick" and also names instrument 2 "kick". Which I guess would be OK if we did kick and kick(2).

I like anickt's solution. Should keep reasonably clear of duplicates.

    Or we can do MySong_1_Kick, MySong_2_KickAccented, MySong_3_Snare, ...

What about a combination of both. Track 1-Kick, Track 2-Kick Accent, Track 3-Snare?

    Just an idea..

  • @KING777 Heh. I edited my answer just before you typed almost the same thing. Seems a reasonable choice. :-)

Great minds and all that! :-))

You may also want to put the track name and number before the song title.

Some apps only display a portion of the file-name. So if some songs have a long enough name, it would be difficult to select the correct file, when viewed in a list.

Good point, but then all the tracks from all the songs would be scrambled all together. We'll take a stab at it and try it with long names.

    Song Folder...

Getting them stemmed is the main still.

We have Audioshare to re-name (if) need be. :)

  • Yep, just getting stem output is the main task. People will quickly tell us what they want after. :-)

this would be good, the shorter the name the better probably, even if there are duplicates like a few kicks etc... having the name kick gives us the gist of what we need to know..... but as long as you guys are on the case i'm good

  • I'm wondering if people will use the tracks and then delete them or keep them around forever. Could be a large heap of files for people to manage, but I guess that's what they are signing up for when they export stems.

  • keep some , not keep others I think, each song would have it's own folder of stems right, the option to delete the folder and individual stems would do the trick

For me, I would delete sometime after export! I can always export same file again if needed.

Having the wav stay in the app would just take up room/space. The midi is still there.

But some small stemmed projects may remain, or whilst I'm working on the track associated with them.

@kobamoto's above statement is compulsory. (Delete wise)

    Yeah, that makes sense.

If I double tap the pan knob in the 'Drum Machine' page it alters the pitch? You can see it move.

Also when I export a song, (just 2 patterns long) there is a long tail, almost the length of the audio?

  • is there an option for exporting seamless loops?

  • @KING777 Not sure why there's a long tail. You have a cymbal playing? Reverb on?

@kobamoto Not yet. You'd have to do that manually now.

A little reverb on a couple tracks, nowhere near enough for that length of tail. No cymbals.
It's around 2/3 of silence on the exported file?

Added: let me create a new (dry) song and see...

  • @KING777 Thanks. I'll take a look at the logic there.

Just tried it with one pattern, it added space for another.

Then I tried 2patterns song mode, again blank space for one more pattern?
(Plain song, no tweaks). Kick snare hats.

Added: I'm Loving this app though! :)

  • future wise seamless loop with the option to add a tail if necessary would be nice imho

Yes, that would be the solution to the above. :)

    Export song, export loop..

    Gonna reboot and see.....

  • An upcoming (soon) version will let you set a start and end point in the song for working on part of the song at a time. That will help loop creation a bit. I know it's not the real solution.

Cool.. Are you able to recreate the issue?

  • The issue of extra silence at the end? I've not tried yet.

No worries! No rush! Whenever you get a chance.

    Cheers!

  • Wow, After started this thread I waited until now to purchase. I had been saving money for the synthmaster release but that could be awhile given how things are going with Apple approval! This is going to be a great addition to my drum machine collection, thanks for a great app! Just started using it but loving it already.

  • Glad to hear it. Lots more improvements to come!

  • I did not realize that this came with so many templates for so many styles! This is going to make things so much easier!
