  • Will look @ those L8ta. Cheers! :-)

  • I still can't decide if I should buy it. I want to so badly but I wonder if its going to end up with the pile of all the other drum machines I bought. I know its a better DM but I usually us pre made midi drum patterns in cubasis or Rock drum machine. I have a hard time creating my drum track as I am not a drummer. But I can create basic stuff. But I really like rock drum machine cause it makes my track sound so realistic. So please convince me.
I'm trying to save my iTunes cash for symthmaister. :)
But this cool developer for this app also makes me wanna support their efforts.
I like building my songs I song mode like intro, verse, etc. Just like RDM has now...
    Thanks guys!

  • It may or may not be your cup of tea. You should only buy it if you think you would use it. Check out the six new videos to see if they help you decide.

  • Cool will do that. Thnks!

  • I must say:

    Has great sounds.

    It is easy to navigate.

The per hit effect sold it for me.

Easy to get something nice started.

And puts a smile on my face. (Very important!)

I had the demo of Rock Drum Machine. Only things I didn't like was no Midifile as far as I remember. And no stems. Unless that has all changed.
It does have some realistic vibes though.

But like apps which I can edit/control to the letter, where possible.

For the price of Diode 108, I said let me take a look. Glad I did. No buyer remorse!

Speaking of price, we're been on (modest) sale since yesterday. $4.99 from $5.99. Sale expires Saturday. Can't promise that either the $4.99 or $5.99 price will stay forever, especially as we add more features.

  • It's worth more than the $5.99 price to me. I think it's the best drum machine on iOS especially for "out of the box" type stuff

  • $5.99 is a steal for this app.

  • Ok!!!!!!! Enough.
    I got it. :-)

    Hehe!

  • Maybe with this one I will learn some drumming. Or force myself to, or maybe just have fun :-)

  • Fun should be enough. It's a fun toy. You might have so much fun that you find yourself building up a song.

  • Diode108 syncs with BM2 when loaded inside BM2 via IAA . Else it receives midi clock but does not start . With Elastic Drums it works but there is terrible jitter and not stable at all...(iOS 8.3 mini2)

Hope I helped a bit for the midi sync faq :)

And from groove monkey some free midi loops:

So BM2 is a "yes" and Elastic Drums is "unreliable". Thanks. Wonder what's going on with Elastic Drums.

  • Well it works ,but not solid. It does not get out of sync but it adds jitter. If you change the tempo on the fly then all go paranoid ,unlike with LoopyHD

  • Thanks. If tempo stays the same, does Diode-108 stay in sync with Elastic Drums? Or is there jitter or sloppiness even then?

  • When not changing the clock there is jitter yes, to my ears noticeable. The clock indicator on diode108 jumps like crazy (e.g. on 120bpm on Elastic Drums, Diode108 shows values from ~100 to ~140!) but somehow it manages to sync. Maybe someone else can confirm this. Tomorrow I will upload a pattern ,one with internal clock and one when slaved to Elastic Drums.

Well on my iPad mini I can't even get them both (diode and electric drum) to load, elastic drum "reports an error" ....

    On air 2 they load
But diode doesn't seem to start when I press play on elastic drum, also I agree with korakios that the tempo display fluctuates hugely.

  • @BiancaNeve . You have to press play once on Diode108 when it's on slave mode. (maybe you did it but worth mentioning)

  • @Korakios yes it's worth mentioning as it took me ages to find that out before, but in this case I did it

Exactly what I've found. At 130bpm on Elastic Drums, Diode jumps around from 110 to 150(ish). Also when I have Diode loaded in Audiobus, then load Elastic into Audiobus, the sound from Diode stops!

  • OK. I guess I'll buy Elastic Drums and see if I can figure out how to make them get along better. If someone has time, can you try to drive both Elastic Drums and Diode from nordbeat 2 or MidiBus or MidiFlow?

  • Can't get diode to run from Midibus when elastic is running.

Don't spend all your profits on other apps :)

  • @BiancaNeve Say, I've been looking for a good financial adviser! :-)

Well that's irritating. We need to figure that out.

  • Diode will not run from Nord Beat 2 when Elastic drums is running

  • well as irritations go it's a pretty minor one really. Not nearly as miffing as only having sliders to input values as opposed to the option of typing in values for example.

    Yes, good point.

  • Just wanted to drop in again and say how much I love Diode's Swing Control and how I wish Gadget's Swing Control was more like it. Thank you!!
