Inside the app it says full unlock $29.99 but on the App Store page under the IAP info it says $79.99

Yeah, inside the app it said $79.99 a few hours ago, they must have updated that because of the current sale

  • tk32 nailed it, there is no way for what they claimed will work to actually work. I get that a lot of people here like IK's effects, but this is an enormous unforced screwup and there's really no excuse for it happening like this.

It shows that they don't do enough tests before release. Poor dev. @IK_Multimedia

Everyone messes up. What matters is they are working to address the issue. They’re not running away from it.

  • I’m okay with the switch if it means more modules coming in the future…but I’m not in the mood to throw away $79 for a bug right now

I’d love to have the option to buy even more capable modules in the future. After this is ironed out, I can’t wait to see what they have planned next.

Weird…it seems i‘m still running full version without IAP,everything is unlocked and i don‘t see any purchase/restore options. Also,i can‘t remember that i updated mixbox the last couple of days. BUT,according to the appstore it should be the latest version cause i only see the“open“ button, not“update“.Can i see which version i‘m running?

Another thing @ikmultimedia : why is mixbox standalone locked to 48khz on ipad pro M1?I can chooseup to 96khz in other apps…

edit: just a few seconds after my post i see the“update“ option now.Lol,no thanks 🤗

  • We are all Beta testers these days, a sad state of affairs.

These issues are not edge cases and can easily be prevented with due diligence and a halfway competent QA process.

  • Going to delete the app and reinstall it to see if that fixes it.

    Nope.

  • Somehow i don‘t even buy their “general reliability improvements“ info in the update box. As long as it doesn‘t crash or act strange etc i‘m not gonna update at all to the „f2p version“.Unless they add new modules that REALLY peak my interest.

  • Gonna be hard to fix this one…I suggest IK hand out restore codes to anyone who contacts support

  • It has in Oz - I just got it!

Yeah. Just in case it comes to this, I might screenshot my dated proof of purchase from the appstore (and i probably still have my email receipt* from Apple)

    * Edit: yes, i do!

I doubt it will be a hard one to fix. The purchases are recorded via our AppleIDs...so I am sure it's just a few switches and buttons which need to be flipped:

Can an app differentiate between those that bought it and those that got it for free, though? Or maybe they can just set a date threshold I guess

AppStore can, because it knows how much we paid. That's how it can adjust bundle prices to reflect previous purchases.

Right, but in case the app needs to know in order to consider the IAP as purchased, right? I don't really know, just curious about the technical details of the whole thing, I'm surprised they didn't think ahead.

AppStore can, but will they accommodate a random developer among millions with a list of all who purchased (considered private user data) , and/or some kind of custom API to convert all such to Full IAP restore?

I’d be amazed if this happened…but pleased lol.

Or we could be in for another AR-909 styled “adventure”

The app has to ask the AppStore, it doesn't "know" anything. That's how an app can "restore purchases". The problem is that you bought the app, not the IAP. That's where buttons need to be pushed, databases updated, to transfer the app purchase to the IAP purchase. However, the system is not really designed to support a change of marketing/pricing strategy.

  • I can understand a bug now and then, but something of this magnitude... come on. You think they would have thought this one over before implementing it. IK got a lot of users pee’d off, including me, and a lot of fixing to do to make things right. I made the expensive purchase during an already very rough time last year, but made the sacrifice after a lot of debating. Now having lost it all again is a very bitter pill to swallow. Can’t wait to have the full version back that i already paid them for. Good thing that i registered it. Got enough proof to show that i bought this already.

Got it, that's what I was wondering: can the app ask the App Store whether the app was purchased for free or not, or when it was purchased? Otherwise, they can't tell which users should get their full purchase transferred

The AppStore has complete records of all purchases. You can access that info through Settings.

Asked for a refund. MixBox is convenient, but it’s also nothing special if you already have a good battery of effects. The amp sims are anemic, and each effect has only about four or five parameters that can be adjusted. I do like the compressors, and Saturator-X is indeed good but no better than Reamp or Saturn. It never really sat right with me, and I found it really noisy as well. I bought it only a week or so ago, and now seems like a good time to abandon ship.

;) I know, I was asking from the perspective of an app because I was curious about the inner workings of that system, but never mind, we'll see how their solution works soon enough

I could so easily click on that $29.99 button and get the full unlock right now.

Edit: the AppStore page now shows $29.99 under the IAP info (here in the U.S. at 11p.m. EST)

  • I wonder if this is how they are going to go with AmpliTube. I mean, roll it into MixBox and Auv3. Where we then have to buy it all over again.

They are super. It tells me that I’ve paid for the app and I have registered full version then it shows me I have to pay the iap to unlock what I already had 😂😂💻 what a big bug. So sorry But no more @ikmultimedia for me. Too many bugs, also with their licensees and download on pc version after group buy.
