  • Aww hell yeah, that is cool! When you have literally hundreds of AUv3's the folders on the home screen just fog over, I think it was @Samu who was saying that half the time he'll forget he's got MixBox, etc when mixing and I totally concur with that. FAC makes some of the best apps available, this looks like a great tool for iOS music production.

    Oh that’s clutch!

    Yep... Totally brilliant!

  • Something like this should be integrated in AUM. Perhaps as an in App purchase …

We already have something a little bit similar with Patch Roulette...It has to be strongly integrated within the DAWs or it is useless...imo

Why? Sure it would be great to have it built into AUM etc., but we don't, and I don't think it would be useless as a separate app. At least for me, that is. I would like to have an app to organise my plugins either way. YMMV though.

  • Well, this looks like a useful and time-saving tool.
I remember reading some time ago that a tagging feature for plugins is coming to AUM, but I'm not sure when it is going to happen.

  • Well definitely looks useful, we'll have to see exactly how it works.

  • Sheer brilliance!

  • It's also a good sign in my book that Fred seems to have a nice collection of plugins there himself 👍

  • Personally I'm down to a grand total of 200 apps installed (that's every single app including system apps and time-wasters) on my iPad...

This will definitely be usable to those with a gazillion of apps without saying too much... :sunglasses:

  • Oh yeah, we need something like this.

  • Yeah, now people can have a dick measuring competition - or on the contrary boast how few apps they have, the app equivalent of no-fapp 😉 - without actually having to measure the number of Auv3s by hand 🤪

I would be up for this if it can maintain a database of all my apps, including ones not currently live on my iPad. I now have literally hundreds of the things dating back to 2009, and often can’t recall the name of a specific app, or even remember I’ve got it. There is a real need for something like this, along the lines of those CD and DVD librarian apps - but only if I can easily add my back catalog as a one time thing, (‘Add from Purchased’ ?) and then have it maintained going forward. Fingers crossed…

Eh, this is a very great idea. At the same time, I don’t need it because I know what I like and what my go-tos are. But definitely a nice thing for those who “somehow” forgot what they’ve bought and need to browse a list of things for experimentation. Clever prey move by FAC.

+1 I'm in the same boat, that was one part of my app-cleanup process :sunglasses:
(I still feel I have too way many apps installed).

  • Brilliant idea hope it can be used inside a DAW to help find and load a AU will great inside NS2 or MTS that just lists long names.

  • As long as it doesn’t tell me the total money spent on said apps… that could be a bit of a shock!

  • I like it, but pretty sure it would not work in GarageBand or Logic Pro.

Thank you for sharing the info!

First of all AUBE is dawn in French :) and also stands for Audio Unit Box Explorer

    Here some important precisions:

    • AUBE provides info about a lot of AuV3 available on the market, this is automatic (So "everything" already classified)
    • Any unknown audio units will be moved to the default group section, you can submit them via the page General
    • AUBE only lists the AuV3 available on the device on which it is installed
    • AUBE cannot access your App Store purchase history. It's restricted by Apple for obvious privacy and security reasons

So your audio units must be on the device to be detected a least the first time, like in any AuV3 host. For a possible future update I will probably enhance the audio unit loader to be able to verify if the AuV3 is still on the device or not (Not sure, I'm thinking out loud).

Don't forget that everything is sandboxed and restrictions are everywhere on iOS, this is especially true when you want to interact with existing apps. Having everything classified properly on a standalone app is super nice and exciting BUT how to put the extra FAC spices that come with all of my apps... How to use AUBE in my existing AuV3 hosts? Well by using the AUBE Keyboard extension! Use it in the search textfield in AUM, Loopy Pro, Drambo and locate your favorites AuV3! Of course some hosts does not provide a search textfield, and well, they should because it really speed up the locating process.

The release won't be long, I have to finalise some details. Be nice with the 1.0, bugs are always possible :) I will also provide a detailed documentation on my website and running an intro price.

Here the keyboard, works on iPhone as well of course.

Ohhh, I'm very concerned by the privacy policy on everything I do! So:

    • The AUBE Keyboard is running on restricted access mode and does not track your keystrokes (no text input involved)

This was gonna be my first question. I’m defo getting this app, but my main use would be to find all those forgotten apps that I haven’t used for ages, that have been offloaded by my device.

Good thing with the app library on iOS is that it shows apps that have been offloaded so if it’s a case of loading them all back on, letting them be scanned by AUBE, then they’ll be cached in the app, that would be more than acceptable.

    Nice one Fred! 👏

  • Clever to use the keyboard in AUM…

  • That keyboard trick is 🔥

Damn... a new app from @FredAntonCorvest and it's NOT an updated Envolver with "pitch" detection so I can use it for drum triggers based upon rough detection of high vs low to just tap like the Impaktor interface but aim the resulting MIDI at all my drum apps. Like pad drumming but using a table or maybe a djembe as an audio drum trigger.

Hard to do? I hope not.

I own all of the @FredAntonCorvest apps and will buy this one too.

  • @FredAntonCorvest may I offer a formal request for you to bring your Phazer plugin to macOS via the desktop App Store to compliment your other AU plugins already there?

Take a number and wait your turn... wait. I have a M1 Mac too. OK. I can wait for "FAC Envolver 2 (now with pitch detection)".

These were available and working before the M1's were available. I got them as soon as they came out.

The power on the Intel ran out (my power is out until Saturday). I switch to the new M1 Mac.
The FAC Bundle for Mac is $48.99 for Alteza, Chorus, Transient, and Maxima.

It's a great bundle at almost any price. Would just like to see the rest of those wonderful plugins make their way to the desktop App Store. :)

Yes... but such a distraction from "FAC Envolver 2" with pitch detection. I'd pay $20 for it on IOS. (I KNOW Drambo can probably do this but I'm holding out for Fred to make it simple with a larger UI).
