  • As for how soon apps get added, that's very complicated... I think the appstore description has been updated to say something about that, probably worth a look.

  • Hey Gavin. I should have mentioned that I tried that. It comes up with “no units to export”.

Ah, maybe that's a bug then, not sure. Did you create a nickname?

    Yes I did.

This looks to be a great app. I bought it and did a quick test. It shows I have 337 apps but my very first search revealed what might be a bug, as GlitchScaper isn’t in the list. Does anyone know how soon new apps get added to the AUBE list?

Doug just published a super nice demo of the app and I did a screen shot to show you GlitchScaper is available. Could you please check that you have the last version of AUBE installed ? v 1.3

Here the link to the full video :)

A new AUBE update is available on the App Store!

    → Last database version 1.3.0
→ New store providing early access to the latest database version via a consumable in-app purchase

    • The latest version of the database is included for FREE in each new AUBE app version provided via the App Store. There is no schedule defined, a new version is released when new features are added or bugs fixed

    • You can get early access to the latest database version via a consumable in-app purchase! Obviously, there is no update to buy because the new AUBE version 1.3 includes the latest database version!

Warning I strongly advice you to switch ON iCloud Keychain on each device linked to your Apple ID! This will ensure that your future consumable in-app purchase is available to all your devices!

Check the details on http://fredantoncorvest.com/AudioUnitBoxExplorer.html and read both the “settings” and “It is worth mentioning that..." sections

Support AUBE! And stay tuned for more features to come, AUBE is constantly improving!

So the early access database update IAP is made live when there's a new update available?

At the moment (with database v1.3.0 loaded) tapping on the 'check for data update' button only says that no update is available with no option to purchase an IAP.

    Yes

Yes because AUBE v1.3 already contains the very last version of the database (included for free in each AUBE new version)

FYI: I'm working on new features, hope to get offloaded apps on iCloud as well if everything works properly.
Then later in future update I'll probably add user tags/groups (do not know yet)

I’m a dunce. Where do I access iCloud Keychain.

Yes I do have it visible now in the updated version. I watched Doug’s video after I spotted what I thought was a bug.
    Cheers

@FredAntonCorvest I found the same developer under 2 different name tabs: Ik Multimedia <-> ikmm

Hi, thank you for reporting. This is the manufacturer name provided by the AUv3. This is something that should be fixed by the dev. I was surprised that some did not provide a manufacturer name at all, and sometimes the name on the App Store has nothing to do with the one in the AUv3 😕

I’ve seen that same naming inconsistency from other developers.

I should have updated my post. I found it. Thanks for responding and for this great app.

  • Forgive me if this was already requested or declared an impossibility but I would really like a way to export the list of apps installed on my device to a CSV file or something. If I want to use AUBE as a clean-up tool (for example), having a way to track that info would be really reassuring. My neurotic hoarder brain is afraid if I remove something that I'll forget all about it. I know I could go to my list of purchases in the App Store but that is such an inconvenient way to manage anything and it also won't let you export anything. Any alternate suggestions welcome.

  • Please use the very new ExtensionKit from Apple to allow other devs to embed a view directly into their apps, to replace their own selectors as an option if installed. Maybe the AUM dev is interested.

Hi, one way to get a global overview of everything you own: install all your AUv3 plugins on your device and run AUBE, then if you decide to clean your iPad and you remove some AUv3 plugins, they won't be removed from AUBE automatically but kept as offloaded (grayed out). So you will always have a full overview of what you have (you can also remove the offloaded AUv3 plugins if you want of course).

Furthermore, I'm working on the next update and the offloaded AUv3 plugins will be shared across your different devices.

So let say if you have 5 AUv3 plugins on your iPhone and 10 on your iPad, after running AUBE on both devices you will get the same number of AUv3 plugins on each devices. Everything not installed will be presented as offloaded.

You won't forget about what you have, you get the full overview on each device. If you want to reinstall an offloaded AUv3 plugin, you simply tap info => and then install from the App Store info popover :)

I'm a bit scared by "the very new ... from Apple" :)

Having the keyboard extension working nicely was super challenging!
From my personal experience, their APIs are not mature enough. I spend way too many time debugging on their side...

Any host developer interested in this solution can contact me of course but I personally doubt :)

Regarding the keyboard, here an overview about what I'm working on for the next update:

  • So many great AUv3 plugins released this week!

Everything is available in the new AUBE In-App update 1.4.4 !

Getting the latest version of the database via the AUBE store is quicker, and it's a great way to support AUBE :)

I'm working on the next free AUBE update 1.5, adding new features and fixes! AUBE is constantly improving!

This is such an awesome feature. I’m currently using it on the beta, and as someone who swaps from iPhone to iPad all the time, it’s absolutely invaluable.

I’ve rediscovered a load of apps that I bought and forgot as well, that my device had just offloaded. Way I see it, this is saving me money 😂

Speaking as a long time iOS dev I understand, however I'd still recommend looking into it as a competitive edge as it's as revolutionary to cross-app interfacing as AUv3 was, though it'll take some time for devs to catch up. Thanks

I'll definitely have a look, and if there is a solid demand from host devs and users I will be more to happy to do something for AUBE.

:D ! If I worked for Apple the first thing I would do is providing a fix for the UI resize bug on the Logic Pro macOS version! (but this is another story)

In addition to the favorites star, would there be any chance of getting an additional small set of user definable tags. (Suitable for labeling apps as “currently studying”, “instant gratification”, “make more presets” or similar stuff to give users another layer of organization to their workflow.)

Alternatively, leave it as is and I’ll still love it anyway. 😀❤️ It’s really helpful.

Of course, check your last update :)

Sorry to say, but Jony Ive was great because of Jobs, who pushed him like no one else. All of his product design work post-Jobs has been sub-par and directionless. He doesn’t work at Apple anymore and that’s one positive. He was making iOS unusable as head of UI design.
