  • So glad I read the whole thread before making a fool of myself with my first thought, "What good is it really if it doesn't help finding plugins when you want to add them in a host?"

    The keyboard extension is brilliant!

Still, it will only help with hosts that provide a search box to find plugins. Fortunately Loopy Pro and AUM do.

    Here some important precisions:

    • AUBE provides info about a lot of AuV3 available on the market, this is automatic (So "everything" already classified)
    • Any unknown audio units will be moved to the default group section, you can submit them via the page General

Can the user set up their own categories/tags etc. in addition to the automatic ones? Just based on the screenshot you tweeted, @FredAntonCorvest, I wouldn't want to use categories like "Spectral" or "Time", but rather have my own which are relevant to how I categorize my plugins. Will that be an option in the app or are the groups pre-determined?

  • I think this will be very useful. Should be a great way to include some apps (instruments, processors etc) that we might have forgotten about in our musical projects.

  • First of all, thank you all for your great feedback and supports!

AUBE is a no-brainer, a lof of AUv3s are already covered and available when you run the app the first time. There is no way to have all those information with any existing solutions. So obviously I had to define some generic categories to cover everything.

But you know that I'm always open to suggestions, and there is always room for improvement. So here how I ll proceed: the app will be released as it is (I'll provide the complete description via my website), then I will see how it is welcomed by the community (thank you already, because your feedback are great!), I'll monitor the socials medias, the reviews and the sales. I'm very confident that the result will be nice, and there is a lot of chance than other features will be added. Definitely more towards user, and maybe user group, tags or whatever, we will see.

Here the detail view, there is room for other info :)

  • And a random app picker feature please Fred! That would be so popular. Am I right people?

Thank you for your considered reply, @FredAntonCorvest - this is fair and sounds promising. Good luck with your new app!

  • Oh man I could definitely use this in my life. Awesome work! 👏

    +1 that would be such a Killer-feature @FredAntonCorvest @Gavinski
even If you make this as an addendum IAP - I really don't know how many Apps are sold. But I guess it is quite hard to earn "enough".

My working hypothesis is that you can sell any app whatsoever to the good people on this forum, as long as it's cheap, is auv3, and has randomisation. It has these there things, it doesn't matter what else it actually does, if anything*. 🙂👍

*Ps. Well, @Samu can be a bit of a pain because he doesn't bite for the buzzwords, so you might wanna throw in some esoteric Sunvox-related feature as well, to stay on his good side.

Edit: I'm afraid it may not be as obvious as I thought it would be, so clarification: this comment is not a swipe at this specific app, which I think is going to be gamechangier, just a gentle ribbing of our predictable push for the same features with every app.

Well, I've done my share of bug-hunting, feedback and initial app-inventory for this new FAC app :sunglasses:
One of the reasons I no longer fall hard for 'buzzwords' is to be able to get rid of potential distractions and stay focused.

Isn’t that what Patch Roulette does?

Hi @FredAntonCorvest, will it also be possible to show the status 'no longer available in the Appstore' as a separate category?

That would be extremely helpful. We could at the latest then quickly try to save at least as .ipa - if still possible.

Your app would then be once again significantly upgraded - at least in my opinion

Bought it and currently downloading every single offloaded music app I’ve ever bought so it’s in the database 😎

  • Hoooly crap I have a lot more AUv3s than I thought I did lol

    I hardly dare look…

But actually, wow, this is a brilliant tool for managing your apps. I need it for desktop plugins too.

Does anyone know — if I set up favourites on my iPhone, will those favourites be ported over to the app on my iPad when I open it? Just on my iPhone for now, I won't get to my iPad until tomorrow.

I always managed my music apps in a page full of folders, by type, on my iPad, with a Studio folder where I place the apps I'm using for my current project. Apps like AUM, Wavebox, Hokusai, and Brusfri live in there, with other apps added only as needed.

But on my iPhone, I just have three folders, into which I've dumped everything, following a change of phone and reset, but it leaves it hard to navigate my apps. This brings a solution to that, without the time spent managing them and organising them into groups as on my iPad. This could revolutionise the situation for me overnight.

  • 😳

This was iPhone so doesn’t include about 10 iPad only apps

  • One thing I noticed immediately is that DawnBeat isn't showing up under Samplers. I'm wondering why…

Sync between multiple devices, iPad, iPhone would be brilliant

    It’s an AUv3 ‘host’ not a plug-in.

A ‘host’ is an app that can load AUV3 plug-ins, like AUM, Cubasis, BM3, NS2, Garageband etc.

  • This doesn’t include AUv3s that I’ve removed from my iPad. And of course it’s not including any IAA apps.

I’ve only just begun adding a few favorites…

    Also works perfectly in Drambo.

  • Y'all got issues!
That's too many stuff (Like I could judge anyone here too)

@FredAntonCorvest sorry to be that guy... but just a question... Is there some library/code limitation that impedes it to be compatible with something like ios12?

good thing this thing doesn’t calculate how much money has been spent! 👊 😝 💳 💰

    I bet I’ve spent more on apps than I’ve spent on iPads… and I have a 12.9” M1 with 1TB storage!

  • This custom keyboard thing is super smart. Works great in loopy pro in search mode.
Will hopefully stop me reaching for the same effects all the time
