Pretty obvious that I need more AUv3 drum apps. 😀
Hmm! Plugins I thought about buying but didn’t aren’t showing up for me.
I think this is going to slow down some app purchases.
No, patch roulette is for giving random tweaking ideas for synths etc. A pretty useless app imo, to be honest, but aube will be super useful to many, especially when it gets a random app picker function added, which Fred seems open to.
Yeah, Dawnbeat is not an auv3 app. AUBE only lists auv3 apps!
Is there any chance of opening apps from AUBE or is that just ill-informed fantasy?
No that is exactly what you can do, even from within a host, as long as your host allows text input. You basically have to use aube as a keyboard. I'd guess the details are described on the website?
I didn't know I had so many 😳
@FredAntonCorvest it'd be great if it could also show 'offloaded' auv3s (greyed out, but with a little cloud symbol). To save space I let the system remove files to the cloud, but it also often removes apps. So in AUM & LP, they don't show up at all, and I may not think of them as options.
I'm not sure if this is possible, but it'd def be useful for me.
But even if not, this is super great!!
There might be some technical and privacy related challenges to comply with for some of the requests.
From what I know impossible for a 3rd party app to scan the entire purchase history and in order to check for the existence of an AUv3 extensions inside an app bundle it has to be on the device and the extension has to be registered with the system.
One feature that may be possible to add would be to show all entries in the AUBE database which the loaded extensions are checked against before shown…
Thanks @Samu i didn't realise I could host AUv3s in DawnBeat.
good points - and potentially a good idea for a work around.
So this is something AUM users will benefit from? Ad others mentioned I think this will help me add more variety to my app usage.
If I add all the apps that are displayed in the different categories, I don't have the same number as the total number displayed when starting the app. 17% are missing
Totally, since aum has a search bar. Just choose aube as your keyboard
Really looking forward to more customization options tho, and most of all a random function sorted by category
@ervin Could you please rename the post title to "AUBE - Audio Unit Box Explorer" ?
Good point! The dashboard count takes into account all the extensions. For example, Medusa comes with two extensions (regular and multi-out).
Your favorites are available across your different devices via iCloud. Obviously the audio units must be installed on the other device.
Yes, it was very tempting to set it only to iOS 16 but I lower a bit to iOS 15 (iOS 16.0 still required to create badges)
I'm used to the technicals drama, but well I'm getting old now... so I try to keep things "simple"
Yes, as soon as your hosts provide a search text field in their audio units list dialog, you can locate your audio units right away with the AUBE keyboard.
For info, I'm fixing a bug in Zenbeats and ApeMatrix. Will be available with the next update!
There are iOS restrictions. The easy way is to use the "info" button (App Store Dialog) OR use the keyboard in the search text field of iOS itself.
For info, I'm adding the special "go" behaviour you got with your regular keyboard! So hopefully in the next version it will be even easier to open/select an AUv3 with the AUBE Keyboard extension.
This is a great app.
I would really like to see a view that sorts by developer.
In most cases that's how i prefer to select/find plugins and this is something most hosts do not have.
AUM has a company view for example.
I was hoping this app would fix that.
-I also think the up arrow in the keyboard extension is kinda confusing.
-Would be nice to have vertical short swipe page scrolling in the keyboard extension.
Or tabs.
Everything that prevents passive slow scrolling and speeds up navigation.
But sorting/viewing by developers is really a must have!
-Option to create custom favorite lists that are always on top in the extension.
-Also IAA.
I mean not seeing Samplr in the sampler list is just....😄
Having IAA and standalone apps in here would still be a great way to launch them.
a list of all drummers or grooveboxes.
Just a few thoughts.
Great, thanks!
Great to read your feedbacks! Don't forget the rate and review the app!
Oh I was about to forget, the next update will also include some new AUv3! If your default section contains unknown AUv3s submit them. There is an help dialog in the general page and info on the website.
Thanks, I saw that but I'm wifi only. It's all good. Just wondering if it was a possibility but if not I understand.
Don't forget everyone that you need to create a nickname before you submit any apps that are not in the system. This threw me the first time I tried it.
Perhaps it’s not possible within keyboard extensions. But this would be really great.
@FredAntonCorvest
I have to be signed in to the Apple cloud to use that feature. I don't use the cloud so not sure how that is needed.
Oh dear !
